History and Evolution of Search Engine Optimization

seo history

I am going to write  about how SEO(Search Engine Optimization) is formed. Most of us don't know what is SEO. In search engine process SEO plays a very important role.

We know Google is the popular search engine in the world. Now a days people mostly use this. Google has mainly three things related to the SEO. ie, Crawling, Catching and Indexing. The newly emerged website is first tracked or visited by Google. This is Crawling. The visited webpages are scanned by the Google, and they take a snap shot. This process is Catching. If the scanning is not in a proper way, automatically the data will be stored in a  fake database. The process of saving data into database is called Indexing. Long time ago when people searched in Google they never got enough details about what they were searching, it made Google ashamed. For the sake of gaining people's trust google shared their secrets to webmasters.Webmaster is actually, the process which controls website. As a result SEO was born.

Evolution Process
seo evolution

After a few years Google became more contend specific. But not now. Next is Google introduce Keyword Stuffing. It is actually the accumulation of keywords in the contend, then Google ranked it as first. This way the Google ranked the website. After sometime Google felt this was a headache.

In 2009 Google officially declined keyword meta tag. As there is a rapid increase in the keyword stuffing Google made some small changes in their algorithms. Next Google introduced link specific. If there are more  number of links in our website, we will get links from others to our website, then Google ranked the website it as first. To provide links more, link sellers are arrived.  As a result Google listed things having less quality. To overcome this problem Google introduce a new term, that is Quality link specific.Google rank a website in out of 10. This is called page rank. To get a link from website having more page rank, the website ranked it as first. The us government and twitter have 10 out of 10 page rank where as Facebook have only 9 out of 10. Google were unable to control link sellers and page rank. To overcome this problem google introduce a new term that is, passing the juice. Google  declined the page rank of a website when there is more links that come out from the website. This is passing the juice. After Google introduce a new term rel=no follow. The rel=no follow is written in the anchor tag.
<a href = "www.softtech.com" rel= no follow>softech</a>
Here is no passing equity. Google thought that our website trust value increased when link connected from our site to other highly page ranked site.

From 2009 Google introduce many user friendly assessments. If we search a word in Google, it show all the words related to the search word. That we understand that Google itself interact with user. This is Google suggest. If we leave the page with out logout, the next day we search Google automatically show our account. This is called personalized search result. If  a user visit in a website and with in seconds they are closing the website. This is called Bounce rate.Google understand that the website is not attractive for the visitor. So rank of the website will be decrease. If user reach a webpage, the user leave and come back to the previous results. This is Pogo-stickingPogo-sticking is actually a bad thing. So it decrease the ranking.

From 2010 Google introduce social media signals. According to the user interaction of a websites, the rank can be increased or decreased. According to the like and comments of a post that we shared in social media, the Google interact with it and increase it's rank.
